Blue Cheese and Bacon Beer Bread
This bread goes great with a warm winter soup or chili.  The ingredients are basic and it only takes a few minutes to mix together and pop in the oven.
Ingredients:
3 cups no-sifted self-rising flour (MUST be self-rising)
3 tablespoon sugar
1 (12 ounces bottle) of beer (the darker, the better)
⅓ cup crumbled blue cheese
1⅓ cup finely crumbled bacon
½ stick melted butter
Preparation:
Mix flour, sugar, beer, blue cheese and bacon.
Place mix in a greased loaf pan
Bake at 350°F for 50 minutes.
Remove and brush w/ melted butter.
Bake 10 more minutes.
Let cool well before cutting otherwise it is prone to being “crumbly”.
You can combine this excellent recipe with some others from our collection.
Yield one loaf.
Enjoy this recipe and many more at carolinaheartstrings.
