Caipirinha

“I had never heard of this drink until an FB friend mentioned it.  Always looking for something new and edgy, I thought it worth investigating.  After a little research, I found that it is considered the national cocktail of Brazil.  By combining muddled lime, a little sugar, sweet and sour mix, and sugar cane rum (Cachaca, $19.95 for 750 ml bottle), it's easy to see why this drink has become so popular.  It's one of those drinks that really grow on you.  There is a slight bitterness that is complimented by the sugar, and nicely layered with the lime.  Definitely a sipping drink that will have you longing for a little bossa nova.  We hope you enjoy the recipe for our "Cocktail of the Week", the.....Caipirinha. Thanks Jenn!” hamptonroadshappyhour
