Brownie Pie a la Mode
“This
particular brownie is making special by baking in a pie pan and serving it with
homemade hot fudge sauce. Whenever I
make this everyone ooo’s and awww’s over it.
It’s moist, fudgy, and pretty and it tastes wonderful.” Lisa
Ingredients:
For
the brownies:
½ cups Sugar
2 Tablespoons
Butter
2 Tablespoons
Water
1-½ cup
Semisweet Chocolate Chips
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon
Vanilla Extract
⅔ cups Flour
¼ teaspoons
Baking Soda
¼ teaspoons
Salt
¾ cups
Chopped Walnuts
For
the fudge sauce:
1 cup
Semisweet Chocolate Chips
¼ cups Sugar
1 Tablespoon
Butter
½ cups
Evaporated Milk
Instructions:
Brownies:
To make the
brownies, in a small saucepan over medium heat, bring the sugar, butter, and
water to a boil.
Remove from
heat; stir in the chocolate chips until melted.
Set aside.
In a mixing
bowl beat eggs and vanilla with a wire whisk.
Add chocolate
mixture and mix well with a spoon.
Set aside.
Combine
flour, baking soda, and salt and then add to the chocolate mixture.
Stir in the
walnuts.
Pour into a
greased 9inch pie plate.
Bake at 350°F for 28-30 minutes or until a
toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
Place the
dish on a wire rack to cool.
Put chocolate
chips, sugar, butter and milk into a microwave safe bowl (I used my Pyrex
measuring cup) and microwave just until butter and chocolate are melted.
Whisk until
sauce is smooth and hot fudge saucy.
Cut pie into
wedges, drizzle hot fudge sauce on top and then top with ice cream and more hot
fudge.
Serves 8.
