Broiled
Lobster Tails with Garlic Butter
“Lobster is
ocean luxe at its best and delivering a feast starring this succulent
crustacean couldn’t be easier. No need to wrestle with steaming pots of boiling
water, your broiler is your friend and my go-to method for preparing this
sumptuous delicacy.” Cheryl and
Adam
Ingredients:
½ cup (1
stick) unsalted butter
2 garlic
cloves, peeled and minced
4 large lobster
tails, thawed, if frozen
Kosher salt
and freshly ground black pepper
Smoked
Paprika
Lemon wedges,
for serving
Instructions:
Preheat the
broiler.
Combine the
butter and garlic in a small saucepan and over low, melt the butter.
Remove the
pan from the heat and set aside while you prep the lobsters.
Place the
lobster (shell side up with the head end facing you) on a parchment-lined
baking
sheet.
Using kitchen
shears, cut down the center of the shell almost all the way to the base of the
tail, being careful to not cut the meat.
Pry open the
sides of the shell to expose the meat.
Gently pull
out the meat, leaving only a small connection of meat to the shell at the base
of
the tail.
Squeeze the
shell back together and lay the lobster meat on top of it.
Brush the
lobsters with some of the garlic butter and season with salt, pepper and
paprika.
Broil until
the lobster is golden and the meat is opaque in the center, about 10 minutes.
Serve with
the remaining garlic butter and lemon wedges.
